Life since Thanksgiving.

Life since Thanksgiving has definitely been a blur. A big, crazy blur.

The weekend after Thanksgiving we drove down to Orlando for the weekend to find an apartment. God was really looking out for us since we found one and got approved all in one afternoon. We are super excited to be moving and having a place does make that a bit easier. The apartment is a cozy little one bedroom. I love it. However, for such a small apartment it has a KILLER laundry room!
See what I mean?!? LOVE this laundry room!

Ceiling fans were a big plus for me.

Signing paperwork for our FIRST APARTMENT!

Of course, if you know Eric and I you know that we cant go down there and pass up a good opportunity for DIsney. My Grandma and aunt went with us and since we stayed on Disney property ( since it is cheaper than a regular hotel with Eric's discount ) on Friday night we went and visited the resorts that had giant gingerbread displays in them. This house is at Grand Floridian! All gingerbread. They even sold gingerbread shingles from the gingerbread house!
The gingerbread was delicious and oh so soft and chewy. Yummy!
That evening Magic Kingdom was having a Christmas Party with the Christmas Firework Show. Rather than paying 90 bucks to get into the Christmas party (which is totally worth it by the way) we decided to head to the Polynesian Resort and sit on the beach and watch the Christmas Fireworks at Magic Kingdom from there. It is totally worth it. They pump the music into the beach and it is a perfect view of the fireworks...plus you are sitting on the beach. You also get to see the electric water pageant ( a cute little show. )

Pretty awesome view of fireworks from Polynesian of Magic Kingdom fireworks.
We needed dinner Friday of course so we decided to check out the new hotel Art of Animation and eat at their food court. Eric and I had been wanting to see this awesome new hotel for a while. He was especially excited to finally be able to see it! Here are a few pictures!

No picture can do this hotel justice you just have to see it in person. They have themed buildings such as Lion King, Cars, Nemo, and the Little Mermaid.
FUN FACT: At the Big Blue Pool ( Nemo) if you go under water you can hear Nemo and his friends playing. Precious.

On Saturday, we woke up early to head to EPCOT. My aunt about 2 weeks before the trip mentioned that she wanted to do the SEGWAY tour of EPCOT World Showcase and with Eric's discount price she could not pass up paying for everyone. So thank you Meme for an awesome morning.
This tour is quite amazing. You get about an hour of training, which seems too long, but by the time you get out on the road wtih the SEGWAY you feel like a pro and so comfortable on the SEGWAY. Before you start the tour you get a breakfast that comes with the tour. This comes with two choices. #1 - Eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, breakfast potatoes and a drink or #2 - Cinnamon roll and fruit cup and a drink as well. THey both looked delicious.
After the breakfast it was time to SEGWAY our way around world showcase. It was amazing and we actually learned some really cool things.

I had an awful hair day and Spaceship Earth looks very unimpressive but pictures cant do reality justice.
That night we went to Hollywood Studios to see Osborne Lights. They were amazing.

This is just a glimpse of what we saw. Seriously. They also dance to music.
We also went to the Animation Academy at Hollywood Studios  ( one of my personal favs ) where they teach you how to draw a character. it is seriously a hidden gem at Disney. We only had time to do one character this time and we did Chip. Here are our results.

Top to Bottom : Eric, Myself, Grammy, Meme.
Other highlights of that trip were Grammy riding Tower of Terror. I could not believe it. We had a blast.

Tree came up. Eric and I decided not to participate in it this year with our work and his school keeping us very busy. We got the chance to go see it though. This next photo isn't mine but Mr. Jim Barnwell's photo and it is amazing.

I've been crafting with ornaments and convinced Eric to join in on me with my last one.
Pieces of our wedding program rolled up and put in an ornament.

Tiny pieces of crayon melted and swirled around. Left: Eric Right: Me
Love my sweet sister.

I do have a crazy side believe it or not.
We got to celebrate my birthday. Last one in Memphis. It was bittersweet.

We have had quite a few fun Christmas festivities lately and even more coming up!

Sneak peak of Christmas. Stockings.
I have found a few new favorites lately!

This is my new favorite Naked Juice. I have been needing some Vitamin C boosts lately.

We got to try this Heath Bar Cake at the Music Office Christmas Party. So good but so bad for you
We have been in  a packing mode lately. We got quite a bit done yesterday! This picture proves it!
Making progress.
We now have 13 days until we move. I can't believe it! Florida is our new adventure in this "Big Blue World." We can't wait. Will update with more festivities as they happen!

Love,
The Hignights!
