SIster, Sister.

This post is just a short little post dedicated to my little sister. I love this little diva very much!

Madasyn, affectionately boo or sissy poo, I love you so much and will miss you.
We fight like all siblings do at times, but at the end of the day, I would rather have no one else as my sister.

Mady and I at DIsney in 2007

Bummed that there was a 30 minute wait for Small World.

My littlest best friend.

Fake smiles but hey we love each other.

Love the sass from her and she is still this sassy and fiery today and still today I roll my eyes most of the time.
I love this little lady very much. I know I can tell her anything and she can tell me anything...including when my make up looks bad and when I " shouldn't wear that scarf with that shirt." It is kind of like I have my own little personal wardrobe assistant....Now only if i had the money to let her go pick out my clothes. LOL.

Over the past 2- 3 years I have watched as my sister has chased some of her own little dreams...such as cheerleading.
Sissy Poo's cheer team (Appling Middle) made it to Nationals...which just happened to be at DISNEY where I was doing my internship at the time!
We share a love for Disney....although I think hers will now be heightened by the fact that her sister and bro in law will now be living down there.
Getting ready for a fun filled Disney day in Spring 2012

Yes look at my face..... I'm too lazy to find a picture where I look decent. We had breakfast with Stitch at Ohanas. A must do buffet breakfast.
This past year especially I have watched boo grow into a beautiful person and wish I could be here to watch her even more but I will be only a text, phone call, facebook message, facetime, or skype away.

Us getting ready for LUVMUD. My brother and Eric were on our team as well and at this point were tired of pictures.
I'm glad we got to spend time together these last few days and just take crazy pictures again like we used too.

My new favorite pic of us...need to get rid of that glaring light.
So sissy poo, I leave you with this....be yourself, stand up for what you believe in, don't let troubles get you down, keep your beautiful smile on, trust God in all things, and never let anyone tell you that you cant accomplish something. If you have a dream, chase it, follow it, and achieve it.

Eric and i will always be here for you sissy poo!

Love,
The HIgnights.

Where did December go?

Wow! Where did the month go? December just disappeared. This post is mainly a photo dump since I have just taken a short break from packing and decided now was as good as a time as ever.

We have just 5 short days until we leave and packing is happening every spare moment we have now.

December has been filled with lots of happy memories and even though i have had to leave some great co workers behind I can't wait to see who else the Lord will bring me to in Orlando.

We got to see our Nephew Carson this month. He is getting so big!

Also thanks to my aunt, we went and saw Starry Nights for the last time as Memphians. :(

We got a few little happies from friends.
I really wish this picture would load but it won't. Just know Eric and I are now the proud owners of a share of Disney stock framed and all thanks to a wonderful mentor and friend.  :)

We also received a second little happy in the form of one of our favorite wedding pictures on an ornament!

We had tons of Christmas fun with both sides of the family :)

We took our 5th annual Christmas Eve breakfast to Cracker Barrel. :)

Several females in my family got our annual matching pajamas to wear Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. Only my sister will allow her picture up though so that will have to do.

I have discovered one of my new favorites...Gorilla bread (recipe to follow in another post.) This is a delicious breakfast and the picture does not do it justice.
The picture makes it look dry but it is not.

I have a new favorite lip balm and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Its by Maybelline. They have tinted and non tinted. i started out with the non tinted. It also is spf 20 sunscreen along with moisturizing! I gave in a few days ago and bought a "peach" tinted one. The color is still very natural but a little more professional looking. (I do not do lipstick at all.

On th 26th I had fun making Christmas cookies with some great ladies!!

We also went out to the movies with The Avants.....I am currently beating myself up for not getting a picture.

We got to see Madison before she travels back to California!!! We were so excited! Madison gets a lot of credit for bringing me out of my shell and teaching me to just be me and she took care of me while Eric was in Disney lol.

Tonight we had a quick dinner wtih the Peacocks. I am going to miss Nicole bunches. They also gave us a cute little frame!!! Love!

This last picture is my main goal from here on out. It is the spot marker in my planner and I love looking at it every day.
Well that is December in a nutshell. With the crazy amount of packing I have a feeling that the next post I do will be post or present moving in to our apartment post.

Have a happy new year guys!
Love,
The Hignights!

Life since Thanksgiving.

Life since Thanksgiving has definitely been a blur. A big, crazy blur.

The weekend after Thanksgiving we drove down to Orlando for the weekend to find an apartment. God was really looking out for us since we found one and got approved all in one afternoon. We are super excited to be moving and having a place does make that a bit easier. The apartment is a cozy little one bedroom. I love it. However, for such a small apartment it has a KILLER laundry room!
See what I mean?!? LOVE this laundry room!

Ceiling fans were a big plus for me.

Signing paperwork for our FIRST APARTMENT!

Of course, if you know Eric and I you know that we cant go down there and pass up a good opportunity for DIsney. My Grandma and aunt went with us and since we stayed on Disney property ( since it is cheaper than a regular hotel with Eric's discount ) on Friday night we went and visited the resorts that had giant gingerbread displays in them. This house is at Grand Floridian! All gingerbread. They even sold gingerbread shingles from the gingerbread house!
The gingerbread was delicious and oh so soft and chewy. Yummy!
That evening Magic Kingdom was having a Christmas Party with the Christmas Firework Show. Rather than paying 90 bucks to get into the Christmas party (which is totally worth it by the way) we decided to head to the Polynesian Resort and sit on the beach and watch the Christmas Fireworks at Magic Kingdom from there. It is totally worth it. They pump the music into the beach and it is a perfect view of the fireworks...plus you are sitting on the beach. You also get to see the electric water pageant ( a cute little show. )

Pretty awesome view of fireworks from Polynesian of Magic Kingdom fireworks.
We needed dinner Friday of course so we decided to check out the new hotel Art of Animation and eat at their food court. Eric and I had been wanting to see this awesome new hotel for a while. He was especially excited to finally be able to see it! Here are a few pictures!

No picture can do this hotel justice you just have to see it in person. They have themed buildings such as Lion King, Cars, Nemo, and the Little Mermaid.
FUN FACT: At the Big Blue Pool ( Nemo) if you go under water you can hear Nemo and his friends playing. Precious.

On Saturday, we woke up early to head to EPCOT. My aunt about 2 weeks before the trip mentioned that she wanted to do the SEGWAY tour of EPCOT World Showcase and with Eric's discount price she could not pass up paying for everyone. So thank you Meme for an awesome morning.
This tour is quite amazing. You get about an hour of training, which seems too long, but by the time you get out on the road wtih the SEGWAY you feel like a pro and so comfortable on the SEGWAY. Before you start the tour you get a breakfast that comes with the tour. This comes with two choices. #1 - Eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, breakfast potatoes and a drink or #2 - Cinnamon roll and fruit cup and a drink as well. THey both looked delicious.
After the breakfast it was time to SEGWAY our way around world showcase. It was amazing and we actually learned some really cool things.

I had an awful hair day and Spaceship Earth looks very unimpressive but pictures cant do reality justice.
That night we went to Hollywood Studios to see Osborne Lights. They were amazing.

This is just a glimpse of what we saw. Seriously. They also dance to music.
We also went to the Animation Academy at Hollywood Studios  ( one of my personal favs ) where they teach you how to draw a character. it is seriously a hidden gem at Disney. We only had time to do one character this time and we did Chip. Here are our results.

Top to Bottom : Eric, Myself, Grammy, Meme.
Other highlights of that trip were Grammy riding Tower of Terror. I could not believe it. We had a blast.

Tree came up. Eric and I decided not to participate in it this year with our work and his school keeping us very busy. We got the chance to go see it though. This next photo isn't mine but Mr. Jim Barnwell's photo and it is amazing.

I've been crafting with ornaments and convinced Eric to join in on me with my last one.
Pieces of our wedding program rolled up and put in an ornament.

Tiny pieces of crayon melted and swirled around. Left: Eric Right: Me
Love my sweet sister.

I do have a crazy side believe it or not.
We got to celebrate my birthday. Last one in Memphis. It was bittersweet.

We have had quite a few fun Christmas festivities lately and even more coming up!

Sneak peak of Christmas. Stockings.
I have found a few new favorites lately!

This is my new favorite Naked Juice. I have been needing some Vitamin C boosts lately.

We got to try this Heath Bar Cake at the Music Office Christmas Party. So good but so bad for you
We have been in  a packing mode lately. We got quite a bit done yesterday! This picture proves it!
Making progress.
We now have 13 days until we move. I can't believe it! Florida is our new adventure in this "Big Blue World." We can't wait. Will update with more festivities as they happen!

Love,
The Hignights!
